Running Can Be Serious…
or Seriously Fun
From PRs to Party Miles—Running Is What You Make It!
For a lot of us, running starts with a goal: a finish line, a personal record, a new challenge.
And wow, chasing those goals can be fun. Just ask Sarah, one of my incredible athletes who recently became the first Vermont woman to cross the finish line at her marathon—and crushed a massive 35+ minute PR in the process. That was only her second marathon!
The training, the dedication, the race-day magic—it all came together.
So proud of her!!

From PRs to Party Miles—Running Is
What You Make It!
But here's the thing I love most about running: it doesn't always have to be about the clock. Sometimes, it’s about cotton candy, slip-n-slides, and yes—shots and keg stands at each mile.
Yesterday, I ran the BOLDERBoulder 10K with my family, and let me just say—it was an experience. Trampolines. Sprinklers. Live bands on almost every corner. Neighborhood tailgates and stadium finishes. With 52,185 runners and 80,000 spectators (YES! You just read that right! No typos on those numbers!), the energy was unmatched!!
I’ve never done a race that big before, and I’ve definitely never done one where random neighbors are handing out licorice & donuts on the course. Pretty much every house we ran by had a party going on in its front yard.
And this is my first race that did NOT include a banana or a medal?! But did have a sweet Snack Bag.
It was awesome in a totally different way.
Celebrating Every Runner, Every Pace, Every Reason
Sure, Utah's Conner Mantz took the overall win for the 3rd time with a 28:20— had an entirely different race than me. Different goals, pace, race plan, weather, everything. He didn't have a drop of rain, while I was drenched. He had the course to himself, I shared it with thousands from walkers, to runners, to just-here-for-the-beer.
But that’s the beauty of running. It shows up differently for all of us, and that’s what makes it so great.
Whether you’re chasing a BQ, showing up in costume for a local 5K, taking on a cancer fundraiser walk/run, signing up for your first Spartan, or competing in a Hyrox event—it all counts.
You get to define what your finish line looks like.
Running doesn’t have to look one way to be worth it.
So whatever your next goal is—fast or fun, long or short, serious or silly—I’d love to help you get there.
Whether you're eyeing a PR or just want to have more fun with your miles, I’m here to coach you through it.
Let’s chase your version of awesome.
Happy running
